Privacy Notice
This notice explains how MDLBEAST Radio collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use mdlbeastradio.com or listen.mdlbeastradio.com, listen to our stream, or get in touch with us.
It covers both of those sites and everything attached to them, including the player, the home screen app and our forms. It does not cover mdlbeast.com, our events, or ticket purchases, which have their own privacy notice.
MDLBEAST LLC is a company registered in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with its registered office at 2311, East 17 Dhahrat Al Awudah District, Postal Code 13732, Diriyah. In this notice, “MDLBEAST Radio”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company.
1. When we collect personal data
Most people use this site without telling us anything about themselves. Listening to the stream, reading The Feed and browsing What’s On need no details from you.
We collect personal data when you choose to give it:
- You fill in a form on our contact page, to submit music, ask about advertising, or anything else.
- You message us on WhatsApp, including voice notes, requests and dedications.
- You enter a competition.
- You email us.
We also collect some technical information automatically whenever anyone visits, and more than that only if you agree to cookies. Section 10 covers it.
2. Types of personal data we collect
- Things you tell us: your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you put in a message. Some forms ask for more, for example a link to your track and your artist name if you are submitting music.
- Things you send us: audio, mixes, voice notes, photos and any other material you choose to share.
- Technical information: your IP address, device and browser, and the pages you open. Our servers keep a short log of requests so the site can be run and kept secure.
- Measurement information, only if you accept cookies: which pages you read, where you came from, and whether you arrived through one of our ads.
- Competition entries: what the competition asks for, which can include proof of age or residency before a prize is handed over.
We do not ask for special category data, and we would rather you did not send it.
3. How we use your personal data
- To answer you. If you send a message, we read it and reply.
- To consider music you send for airplay, and to play it on air and on the stream if we do. See our Terms of Use for what you are agreeing to when you send us a track.
- To read out requests and dedications on air, when you send them for that purpose.
- To run competitions, pick winners, check eligibility and hand over prizes.
- To keep the site working, secure and free of abuse.
- To understand how the site is used, and to measure our advertising, if you agree to cookies.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not add you to a mailing list because you sent us a message.
4. Sharing your personal data
We share personal data with the companies that help us run the station, and only for that purpose:
- Amazon Web Services, who host the site and its database in Frankfurt.
- bunny.net, whose content network delivers our images and video.
- Base44, whose service runs the forms on our contact page at forms.mdlbeastradio.com. Anything you type into one of those forms goes to them first and then to us.
- RCS, whose Revma service delivers the live stream. They receive your IP address, because that is how audio reaches your device.
- WhatsApp, part of Meta, if you message us there. Your message reaches us through their service, under their terms.
- Google, Meta and TikTok, if you accept advertising or analytics cookies. They receive an identifier for your device and what you did on this site, and use it to measure and target advertising. Each of them is a controller of that data in its own right, under its own privacy policy.
- Other MDLBEAST companies, where a competition or a campaign is run jointly.
We will also share personal data if a court, a regulator or the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
5. Minors
This site is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Competitions have their own age rules, set out in our Competition Terms, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian’s consent to enter.
If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
6. Where your data goes
The site and its database are hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. Our images and video are delivered from servers around the world so that pages load quickly wherever you are. Our forms provider, our streaming provider, and Google, Meta and TikTok all process data outside the Kingdom.
So if you are in Saudi Arabia, your personal data will be transferred outside the Kingdom in the ordinary course of using this site. We do that with appropriate safeguards in place, so that your personal data keeps a level of protection consistent with the PDPL and the rest of the applicable law, and we require everyone we work with to protect it to the standard the law demands.
7. Data security
The site runs over an encrypted connection. Access to the systems behind it is limited to people who need it, and protected by two-step login. No system is perfect, and we will tell you and the regulator if something goes wrong in a way that affects you.
8. How long we keep things
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Messages sent through a form or by email | 24 months after we finish dealing with them |
| Unfinished form answers | 30 days |
| Music and other material sent to us | 12 months, unless we are playing it |
| WhatsApp messages | 24 months |
| Competition entries | 12 months after the competition closes |
| Winner records | 5 years, because we have to be able to show a competition was run fairly |
| Server logs | 90 days |
| Analytics and advertising data | As set by Google, Meta and TikTok, listed in our Cookies Notice |
9. Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Law of Saudi Arabia you have the right to:
- be told how your personal data is used, which is what this notice is for;
- ask for a copy of it;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong;
- ask us to delete it, where the law allows;
- withdraw consent you have given, at any time, without it affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these, write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority.
10. Cookies
We ask before setting anything that is not strictly necessary, and refusing is one tap. Our Cookies Notice lists every cookie by name, says who sets it and how long it lasts, and lets you change your answer whenever you like.
11. Other people’s sites and content
Some pages carry posts and videos from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and links to Spotify, Apple Music and Anghami. Those are their services, not ours. When you use them, their privacy policies apply. A link from us is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what they do with your data.
12. Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the site changes. The date at the bottom tells you when we last did. If a change matters to you, we will make it obvious rather than quietly swapping the text.
13. Governing law
This notice is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
14. Contact us
